These terms are the agreement between you and Causal Oy, a company registered in Finland, for using the CruSense app. Installing or using CruSense means you accept them. They are deliberately short, because the app does one thing and does not ask much of you.
The short version. Use the app for its purpose, and it is yours to use. Your cellar is your data and you can take it with you. Premium is a yearly or monthly subscription billed by Apple, cancellable any time from your iPhone. Pairings are suggestions, not promises.
CruSense is an app for keeping track of the wine you own and deciding which bottle to open with a given meal. It suggests pairings, estimates drink windows, reads wine labels from photos, and remembers where each bottle is stored.
You need an account so your cellar survives a reinstall and appears on your other devices. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be old enough to buy alcohol where you live.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. That removes your data, as described in the privacy policy.
CruSense is free to use, and the parts that make the cellar work — pairing, drink windows, open-bottle tracking and the storage map — are free permanently. Premium adds Ask Cru, label scanning, web lookup, receipt import and storage placement for new bottles.

If we raise the price for new subscribers, yours does not change. If we ever did need to change the price of an existing subscription, the new price would apply only after your current period ends and Apple would ask you to confirm before charging it — if you did not confirm, the subscription would simply stop rather than renew at the new price.
The bottles, notes, ratings, photos and storage layouts you put into CruSense belong to you. We store them to run the app and to sync them to your devices, and we do not use them for anything else — with one exception, which we would rather spell out: plain facts about a wine (its name, producer, vintage, region, grapes and type) can join a shared catalogue so the next person adding the same bottle does not have to type it again. Your notes, ratings, prices, photos and identity are never part of that. You can export your cellar from inside the app whenever you want, including on the free tier.
CruSense recommends wine. It does not guarantee that you will enjoy the result. Drink windows are estimates based on style, vintage and region, not an inspection of your actual bottle — a wine can be corked, cooked in transit, or simply better or worse than its type suggests. Treat every suggestion as a starting point, and trust your own palate over the app.
Nothing in CruSense is health advice. Please drink responsibly, and never use the app in a way that encourages anyone to drink who should not be drinking.
We aim to keep CruSense running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. Some features need an internet connection and a working third-party service — label scanning and Ask Cru in particular — and those can be interrupted. Your cellar remains readable on your device when they are.
We may change or remove features. If we remove something you are paying for, you can cancel and, where the law requires it, get the unused part of your subscription back.
You can stop using CruSense at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we are legally required to close — we will tell you why unless we are not allowed to.
CruSense is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Causal Oy is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data where you had the ability to export it, or for the outcome of a wine you chose to open. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including your statutory rights as a consumer in the EU, which these terms do not take away.
This agreement is between you and Causal Oy, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for CruSense or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple is, however, entitled to enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary.
Finnish law applies, and disputes belong to the Finnish courts. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may take a dispute to your national consumer dispute body — in Finland, the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi).
If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and the new version appears here before it takes effect.
